Take your paddling to the next level and join us at the Canoe Centre Dublin for your Level 3 Kayak River Skills Assessment - the benchmark for confident, capable and self reliant paddlers.
Delivered in our style, it's not just an assessment, this is a chance to bring it all together - all that you have learned on moving water and now apply it with ease, precision and awareness.
What will you be assessed on?
Following the Canoeing Ireland Level 3 River Skills syllabus, we'll look for:
- Boat Control & Positioning - Smooth efficient manoeuvres, to include breaking in & out and ferry gliding
- Safety & Awareness - Reading the river, anticipating hazards, keeping both you and the group safe
- Confidence in Grade II / II+ water - Controlled paddling in a variety of features and conditions
- Self Rescue Skills - Confident swimming, the roll, equipment recovery and supporting others

This assessment is for paddlers who:
- Are a solid Level 3 Kayak Rivers Skills paddler
- Have spent time on grade II / II+ rivers
- Are ready to take the next step towards leadership or advanced whitewater paddling

Cancelation Policy
Booking Cancelations
Up to 5 working days before your course date:
- You can receive a full refund or reschedule to a later date.
Within 5 working days of your trip:
- No refunds or rescheduling are available, as our coaches will already have been allocated.
Please note that courses may be rescheduled or cancelled due to excessive water levels. If this happens, we will contact you as soon as possible.
Important Information
The Canoe Centre reserves the right to refuse participation if:
- You are not complying with safety rules and advise, or
- You are under the influence of drugs or alcohol
No refunds will be provided in these circumstances.
Weather Conditions
We operate in all weather conditions except when there are extreme weather warnings and it is deemed unsafe to proceed.
