Meeting the standards set out by the Canoeing Ireland syllabus & led by experienced instructors, our course goes beyond just box-ticking. It's designed to build trust in your ability to look after yourself and others on moving water. Our coaches will equip you with the practical skills, mindset and awareness to respond in real-world river environments with clarity and confidence.

Course Duration: 1 Day

What to bring?
- Full kayaking gear including helmet & PFD
- Folding - serrated knife with a blunt tip
- Throwline, sling & locking carabiner
- Wetsuit or drysuit
- River shoes
- Warm layers - (No Cotton) snacks & water

Cancelation Policy
Booking Cancelations
Up to 5 working days before your course date:
- You can receive a full refund or reschedule to a later date.
Within 5 working days of your trip:
- No refunds or rescheduling are available, as our coaches will already have been allocated.
Please note that courses may be rescheduled or cancelled due to excessive water levels. If this happens, we will contact you as soon as possible.
Important Information
The Canoe Centre reserves the right to refuse participation if:
- You are not complying with safety rules and advise, or
- You are under the influence of drugs or alcohol
No refunds will be provided in these circumstances.
Weather Conditions
We operate in all weather conditions except when there are extreme weather warnings and it is deemed unsafe to proceed.
