The Wilderness First Aid training is recognised by all the relevant NGBs.
Over two consecutive days, you will train in realistic outdoor scenarios building both skills and confidence to handle medical incidents in remote environments.
This 2-day course is an essential First Aid Qualification for anyone leading, instructing or exploring remote outdoor environments. Delivered at our flagship location on the Banks of the River Liffey Dublin, the Canoe Centre is just off the M50 - ideally located for access and our outdoor classroom.
This training follows the Wilderness Medical Society's First Aid Scope of Practice ensuring that all skills are relevant to real-world environments.
What You Will Learn:
- Patient assessment & incident management
- Treatment of fractures, sprains and soft tissue injuries
- Hypothermia, heat illness and too, environmental emergencies
- CPR & AED use - both indoor & outdoor settings
- Wound care, control bleeding & shock management
- Scenario-based learning aligned with the Wilderness First Aid Scope of Practice

Booking Cancelations
Up to 5 working days before your course date:
- You can receive a full refund or reschedule to a later date.
Within 5 working days of your trip:
- No refunds or rescheduling are available, as our coaches will already have been allocated.
Please note that courses may be rescheduled or cancelled due to excessive water levels. If this happens, we will contact you as soon as possible.
Important Information
The Canoe Centre reserves the right to refuse participation if:
- You are not complying with safety rules and advise, or
- You are under the influence of drugs or alcohol
No refunds will be provided in these circumstances.
